There are things that are somehow very popular- like the “90’s kids” trend. A huge chunk of people hooked on to the internet are early 90s born. Being a 90’s kid myself, I might as well say we have enjoyed the best of both worlds. This group has seen it all. They have experienced the old school ways of entertainment and the good things brought about by technology. Here are some instances.
They had space:
They did not grow up in a concrete jungle. There were fields and orchards to play around till they grew up. Many got to live in houses instead of the standard issue 3 BHK apartment.
They had to work for menial tasks:
They had to work for the little things like getting a cab or a rickshaw, buying groceries. Not much, but definitely more work than ordering stuff online.
Many kids these days do not read books. With gaming and social media taking over as preferred pastime for kids.
Kids today prefer staying indoors and are hooked up over video games. They like FIFA and PES more than putting on shorts and kicking a ball in the open. 90’s kids had their physical workout sorted.
Cartoons and comics:
Probably the best part of their childhoods. They were addicted to this stuff. From Justice League to Mr.Bean, they had the entire package.
They grew with technology:
They were the first generation to have mobile phones and literally saw every single advancement in technology. Coming into the world of cloud computing all of a sudden may be overwhelming.
They have seen the rise of internet:
These people used to think that internet is a limited resource and there was a time when internet meant going out in search of an internet cafe. That has changed. With the entry of Jio and adaptation of different service providers, the use of internet is as normal a thing like breathing. Now, we cannot even think of an hour without the internet. 90s kids know the value of this.
They can do both hard work and smart work:
Thanks to this doubly enjoyable background they have what it takes to do all kinds of stuff. They have the perfect amount of outspokenness and they can adapt to any kind of situation.
No matter what, this crop has grown into one of the most versatile and able groups in the world. There are many accomplishments by them which is mainly down to their exposure to both old school simplicity and life in the fast lane. The gen Y has big shoes to fill.
