NEXUS is a pioneering AIESEC Mumbai event designed to connect with, recognize and reward their current partners and to build new partnerships. This will also be a platform to interact with AIESEC Members, International Interns, AIESEC Alumni, their Board of Advisors and leaders from the business and social realm. The word ‘Nexus’ means ‘link’ or ‘tie’ and this is what AIESEC Mumbai seeks to achieve through this Share and EnjoyThe youth of today share a common intricacy of choosing the right career path. Some choose to excel in established fields while others choose to think out of the bus and travel the road less taken. Either way, we all need some guidance to take the best out of what we choose to achieve. Hence, AIESEC Mumbai has organized a forum called Avenues – The Career Café an initiative Share and Enjoy“My friends and me are young individuals who are fortunate enough to have everything we need to live a happy and comfortable life. Every time I look at kids having no where to go and no place to live it hurts me because there is a section of us that has everything we could’ve asked for and then these little children who struggle to live. For me, this is the Share and EnjoyDHFL presents Balakalakaar 2011 which is an annual initiative taken up by the local office of AIESEC in Mumbai. It is organized with the aim of creating an opportunity for the under privileged children of the city to discover and develop their potential in creative exercises such as Art, Dance, Drama and Craft. AIESEC Mumbai believes that every person is born with some hidden talent. At Balakalakaar 2011, they Share and EnjoyPedro Alvim de Azevedo Santos, from Florianopolis, Brazil talks about his internship and AIESEC Mumbai. Here is what he had to say: “The island I come from sustains a population of 4 million. Hence, the transition to Mumbai, a city that holds a population of 22 million was pretty overwhelming. I’m here for a 4 month internship at Inventys Research Company Pvt. Ltd. as a Renewable Energies Consultant, involved Share and EnjoyEvery morning one half of India’s Youth wakes up with thoughts of the day lined up for them. From studies to work, parties to business meetings they never have time to stop, look back, look around and think about anyone but themselves and their stressful lives. This group of individuals has become so mechanical, it is almost deemed robotic and insensitive. Every morning another half of India’s Youth wakes Share and EnjoyEvery year AIESEC Mumbai uses their zeal to bring a smile to the innocent and bright faces of the underprivileged children of the city. A group of youngsters assembled to organize an array of fun filled activities for these children as a part of their annual event called Balakalakaar. Scheduled for the 10th of Dec 2011, AIESEC Mumbai has kick started the noble event with a few pre-events.These pre-events Share and EnjoyAdela Sescu, an intern from Romania came to Mumbai through AIESEC Mumbai to work with RewardPort. Here is what she has to say about her internship, Mumbai and AIESEC Mumbai: “For the past 3 years I’ve been living in Iasi, known as The Cultural Capital of Romania. The historian Nicolae Iorga said “There should be no Romanian who does not know of it”. There I’ve studied Communication and PR and Share and Enjoy35 year old Lochan Kothari, a former AIESECer, is now working as the Head of Corporate Sales for a bulk messaging and social media company on SMS. He has also represented world class brands such as the Economic Times and Johnnie Walker. His AIESEC Mumbai journey began in 1993 and what interested him the most about AIESEC was that it have him a chance to hangout with the corporates Share and EnjoyRaj Shah, an engineering student at NMIMS, went on an internship to China. Here is his experience: “It started with getting registered with AIESEC Mumbai and then finding a suitable exchange opportunity that I was interested in. Russia.
