Bhavya Poddar studies at Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, Delhi. Her alternate interests and love for literature made her intern as a Content Writer at many different platforms like “Respect Women” and “Cerebrate Content.” She even interned as an author at “You Only Read Once.” Her work from home internship at Cerebrate Content tells more about her journey. Read on.. What were your main responsibilities as an intern? My responsibilities included writing content for various upcoming websites and organisations basically involved with e-commerce and web development. I was expected to formulate my write up in the desired number of words according to the given guidelines and revert them back to the editors. Why did you want to do this internship? What did you learn from it? I am a very keen writer and this company gave me the right platform to learn and explore my interests. Hence, I chose to do it. I was supposed to revert back within a given deadline and I made sure I didn’t miss it each time. Apart from this, I learnt the various aspects of content writing and how one needs to be crisp with what they choose to write on. What was the impact that you made as an intern? What was the best thing about your whole internship? My work was supposed to be attractive, catchy and highly informative at the same time. I surely made a fine impact by doing so appropriately. The excellent support from the hiring company was the best thing about my internship. What you felt before and after the internship? Formerly, I always had a fear that they would fire me! (Phew! Thank heavens, they didn’t. :D) The supportive assistance received by the hiring company was truly appreciable. I felt great and proud about myself after the internship. Make hay while the sun shines! P.S.: Bhavya has started. Was your Internship the best thing that happened to you? Share your experience with and get featured on our Twenty19 blog!

Here’s an interview with Dr. Krishna Raj, Associate Professor, Electronics Engineering Department- HBTI Kanpur. Dr. Raj, has completed his B. Tech (Electronics) from MMMEC, Gorakhpur & M. Tech (Control and Instrumentation) from MNREC, Allahabad. He also has his Ph.D- MMMEC, Gorakhpur. Dr. Raj has published 57 papers, and 3 books as well. Dr. Raj, talks to Aman Varshney, a final year student in Electronics Engineering from HBTI, Kanpur. Aman- How has your college life been? Dr. K. Raj: My college life has been full of ups and down. Though it never let me down. Despite the fact that my family’s financial condition was not good enough, my parents supported me to achieve what all I have now. I did my engineering from MMMEC, Gorakhpur and I loved spending my time in the college library. I used to take tuitions during my college time. That how I somehow relate with Twenty19’s concept of “Learn and Earn”. Aman- How did you decide to study Electronics Engineering and Digital Signal Processing? Dr. K. Raj: I believe in a very famous saying “See the invisible, do the impossible”. Electronics Engineering is one of the branches of engineering where you can actually see the invisible! And at the same time, there is so much to explore in Digital Signal Processing. So just with the aim to do some interesting in life, I chose Electronics Engineering. Aman- What are some of the methods that you use, to keep the students in your class interested about the course. Dr. K. Raj: The best teacher is the one who can read between the lines. So, I feel it important to understand what is written between the lines in the books and tell students about it. Its also important to start with problem analysis, reach to the mathematical interpretation and then provide the students with the graphical representation. I advise my students to learn online as well and learn something other than their syllabus. Aman- What is the best thing about being a Professor? What do you like the best about teaching at HBTI, Kanpur? Dr. K. Raj: The best thing about being a professor is the passion with which he/she teaches the students. Honesty and discipline are also important in this profession. The quality of students that I get to teach at HBTI is great. I enjoy interacting with intellectuals. I feel lucky to be part of India’s one of the oldest engineering college. Aman- If not a professor then what would you have been ? Dr. K. Raj: I have been taking tuition since I was in class 6th. I have always loved books. Certainly, I would have been a teacher if not a professor here. Aman- If given a chance, what would you like to change about the current education system in India? Dr. K. Raj: I would like to work on the evaluation system. The current evaluation system has many loopholes at every level starting from schools. There is also a need to make professors accountable about their work. Feedback must be taken from students about professors. Aman- What is your take on Internships? Why do you think students should do internships Dr. K. Raj: Internships are certainly very important as it is one of the prime demands of the industry. Internships help a student to gain experiences which they won’t be able to gain from their college and these training and internship experiences will help them in getting the best of the jobs in the industry. Aman- What do you think about Twenty19? Dr. K. Raj: Twenty19 is a great initiative that provides the students with some very good opportunities of internships, learning and earning as well. It is important for students to grab these opportunities and gain knowledge. Online learning is a great platform in the present day education. We would like to thank Dr. Raj for being an inspiration for students. Thank you sir, for taking time to talk to us   About Aman Varshney. Aman is pursuing his B. Srija Sanyal has had an amazing experience interning at five different companies. While Dose Internet Media got her big, portals like Tikkrr.com and pinkandyou.com let her voice her opinions. The environment made me remind of offices where one works hard the whole month and waits for the payday which defines their hard work. Learning from Strict editors: I guess these kind of internships shape us students for the tough corporate world out there. The editors were strict with the quality but never forgot to praise the efforts which really encouraged me. They helped me transform from a mere college girl to somebody who can also manage and work in office with a team well enough. I know there is still a long journey that awaits yet the journey so far was a good learning experience. All thanks to these internships which installed a confidence in me that I too can do something. Moreover, it definitely enhanced the knowledge-box inside me which was limited before. Researching on various topics gave an exposure to vivid worlds. Even during marketing, research and development regarding internships opened a new genre ahead of me which I never thought I could handle. 5. What is the one thing that you learnt commonly in all the internships? .Before jumping onto conclusions on what exactly you can do and you can not, you should give each and every genre a try. I did not think that I could ever handle marketing but I did one internship in that as well. Though at the end of the day I would still say arts and content writing thing is my forte yet I can manage other fields with equal efficiency. Read on to find more about Srija’s learning journey thorough the different internships boosted her confidence in herself..

1. What are the key things that you learnt during your internships?

Internship experience as a content writer furnished my writing skills for the better.

I am sure as big after completing my one month Internship with Dose Internet media. I wrote on other sites for their banner too. Their trust on me to do so made me realise the impact I had on them as an intern.

Formerly, my self esteem was very low. When I submitted the first article, I never thought they would publish it. Then,

I saw my article being published with my name stated below. That moment made me realise what I could be anything if I want to be.

2. What mistakes did you commit and what did you learn from them?

While submitting my first post I was oscillating between whether to withdraw from the opportunity and feared that it might get rejected for being not good enough. But I went forward and the results were definitely good and different from what I expected them to be.

I feel each one of us have some quality or the other which can do wonders if cultivated properly. Only we can initiate such cultivation of our strengths. I learnt that I must listen to the call within me to carry on whatever it takes. I also realised that

Rejection is the essential part of the journey towards betterment.

3. As a college student, how was your exposure to professional world? What did you learn?

  • Teamwork: During my internship we were around 4-5 interns working together as a team yet were having individual space and recognition. There was the team effort in making the site popular but at the same time individual efforts of creating engaging and crisp content was there and was appreciated duly.
  • Earning my own money: It was payday that I liked, not because of the money but for the first time I was earning something against my own hard-work. The environment made me remind of offices where one works hard the whole month and waits for the payday which defines their hard work.
  • Learning from Strict editors: I guess these kind of internships shape us students for the tough corporate world out there. The editors were strict with the quality but never forgot to praise the efforts which really encouraged me.
  • Confidence in my skills: In the interviews I gave in the past, I answered that I didn’t know anything for every question I was asked. Now I can say many things that I can do regarding office work, computer, work ethics, team management et al.

4. How have the internships shaped you?

All my internships have shaped me what I am today. They helped me transform from a mere college girl to somebody who can also manage and work in office with a team well enough. I know there is still a long journey that awaits yet the journey so far was a good learning experience. All thanks to these internships which installed a confidence in me that I too can do something.

All my internships have made me what I am today. They have transformed me from a mere college girl to somebody with the confidence that I too can do something.

Moreover, it definitely enhanced the knowledge-box inside me which was limited before. Researching on various topics gave an exposure to vivid worlds. Even during marketing, research and development regarding internships opened a new genre ahead of me which I never thought I could handle.

Srija_QuickBytes

5. What is the one thing that you learnt commonly in all the internships?

Never underrate yourself – that is the first and foremost thing that I learnt from these internships

.Before jumping onto conclusions on what exactly you can do and you can not, you should give each and every genre a try. I did not think that I could ever handle marketing but I did one internship in that as well. Though at the end of the day I would still say arts and content writing thing is my forte yet I can manage other fields with equal efficiency.

Good luck to all of you reading my story – go and grab dream internships for yourselves :)

Shatanshee Swaroop is an engineering student from Mody Institute of Technology, Laxmigarh, Jaipur. She shares her amazing internship experience with Twenty19 who she claims for opening opportunities to students in such a wide range. Tell us about your internship. I interned at Celebrate Content as a Content Writer. It was a work from home job which made things really easy for me. Of course, I acquired this internship after finding it on Twenty19! Why did you choose to do an internship? How was working in this company? I wanted to widen my spectrum in the field of Content Writing since I am a passionate writer. Yep- this company is awesome! The best thing was 100% quality without any work pressure. As an intern, what were your tasks?  Twenty19 offers internships to students which opens up a wide arena of opportunities for the inexperienced students like us and molds us into much confident and experienced people. I was expected to write one article a day and was provided topics for various types of contents. My articles were also reviewed by editors who corrected my errors and mistakes. What did you learn during your internship? The internship garnished my Content Writing skills and I even learned time management since they gave me a deadline within which I had to submit my articles. The one who has mastered the art of time management can do anything in his life and will not shut doors to any opportunity. What mistakes did you make, how did you solve them and what did you learn from them? Distractions and I were probably the best of friends a few years back. I lost focus from all the important things in my life. I did not set my priorities in the right manner because of which I had lost upon a certain few things. Seems like ‘easily giving up’ was my mantra then. But yes, I learned from my mistakes and did a self-introspection. I worked upon my weak areas and now, What influence did the internship have on you? I am happy that I was able to make my contributions in the field of Content Writing where the world demands crisp content for their collaborations in order to make an impact on the audience. After all, the pen is mightier than the sword! A moment during the internship which made a new impact on you? A moment of self-admiration was what made a huge impact one me. I had always been a kid who would look down upon herself and think that the world was so much better and that I was not capable of doing things which others could do. What mistakes did you make, how did you solve them and what did you learn from them? Distractions and I were probably the best of friends a few years back. Seems like ‘easily giving up’ was my mantra then. But yes, I learned from my mistakes and did a self-introspection. I worked upon my weak areas and now. How much did this internship help you and in what contexts? The managing head of the internship was very amicable and never did he pressurized me with a lot of work. The internship taught me to be punctual with my work and now that I have interned as a Content Writer with Cerebrate Content, I’ve got the neck of writing contents and I feel confident about it.  Would you like to do similar internships further? Content Writing is something which I enjoy the most. Twenty19 is doing a great job by offering internships to students like us and I would certainly like to do similar internships. Shatanshee Swaroop

Content writing is all about how well you express yourself and provide an appropriate content for the company you are working for.

I worked upon my weak areas and now,

I am more adamant on finishing whatever I start and my priorities have been well set in life.

What influence did the internship have on you?

I am happy that I was able to make my contributions in the field of Content Writing where the world demands crisp content for their collaborations in order to make an impact on the audience. After all, the pen is mightier than the sword!

A moment during the internship which made a new impact on you?

A moment of self-admiration was what made a huge impact one me. I had always been a kid who would look down upon herself and think that the world was so much better and that I was not capable of doing things which others could do.

During my first year of graduation, I realized that one cannot simply judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree. That was when it hit me that everybody has their own area of perfection, which when worked upon well, can definitely lead you to the top.

I worked upon my weak areas and now.

I am more adamant on finishing whatever I start and my priorities have been well set in life.

Nothing like a successful internship to boost up your morale and assertiveness.

Would you like to do similar internships further?

Content Writing is something which I enjoy the most. Twenty19 is doing a great job by offering internships to students like us and I would certainly like to do similar internships.

Her experience made a difference in and for her, go make yours! GO INTERN!
