On an interview with Rajat Talesra, he shares with us his amazing internship story. Rajat Talesra acquired an internship at iData Point as a Mobile App Developer. See what Rajat Talesra said about his experiences as an Intern: First of all, thanks to Twenty19.com for such an awesome internship portal. I doubt the possibilities of getting the same through any other medium. I’ve had an amazing time interning at the company “iData Point” as a Mobile App Developer. Why did you want to do this Internship? It all started with my curiosity of getting practical experience and for knowing the actual responsibilities of being an intern. I can’t deny the fact that this curiosity really took me far. Impact you made as an Intern:  I’ve learnt so many new things in app development. I was all clear with my basics theoretically but getting a chance of doing it all practically really heightened my knowledge. As an intern, I made sure to create a good impact and I did so aptly by doing all the work according to their instructions without crossing the allotted deadlines. How was it working for iData Point? The learning process was certainly the best part of my internship. As it was a Work from home internship, I even learned to manage time. This internship has certainly been a successful attempt to face the new world of responsibilities. What were your thoughts before doing this Internship? I was very curious to know where it would land me. Your thoughts after the Internship: Increase of knowledge along with a great work experience. After the internship, I was very glad for doing it. Minna Pauly, the core organiser of Milestone 35, the cultural and management fest of IMT,Nagpur speaks about her experience of organising the Online marketing workshop. She and her team managed to get close to 100 participants in just 4 days! Read on to know how? How was the whole experience of organizing the workshop? The process of making an event successful with the help of your team and seeing people talk at lengths about how enriching it was from a learning point of view, is something to be cherished. Running to & fro for getting all the details right to attending the workshop…the entire journey was worth it.  What did you learn from organizing? The nuances of coordinating with a point of contact, explaining to the person about the situation at hand, listening to what he/she has in mind about the event, how much of it can be implemented on a practical level & trying to get the best out of it provides a lot of learning on a ground level for budding managers like us. Time-management, PR, immense convincing skills were few of the takeaways for the team in the course of organizing the event. What motivated you to do the workshop? In a B-school, one often gets a chance to attend lectures from guests coming from across the globe, but a hands-on workshop is what every student looks forward to after a certain while in the programme. Why did you choose Online marketing workshop? “Online Marketing- the new era”  workshop was to be conducted at a juncture when lot of student managers were preparing for their Summer Internships and a lot more for their Final Placements from the college. So the purpose behind conducting the workshop at such a time was to give all these students a fair idea of what lies ahead of them in the world outside, how they need to build themselves and what they were missing. Mr. Karthikeyan’s valuable insight into bringing up an organization was an added incentive for all those entrepreneurs who had registered. As a participant what do you have to say about our workshop? It was extremely engaging; A lecture for over four hours with a single break would very easily make you feel bored. But that did not happen for me or anyone in the crowd over the course of the workshop. Why did you choose twenty19? Milestone 35 being an Inter-college fest where more than 1000 students take part, we felt this was the best portal for all students to gain useful insights on various important topics. Twenty19 was also well known among the students and it made our job much easier when it came to promoting the workshop as students believed in the credibility of the workshop since it was conducted by a brand that was known to them when it came to giving opportunities to students. How was the whole experience of organizing the workshop?

The process of making an event successful with the help of your team and seeing people talk at lengths about how enriching it was from a learning point of view, is something to be cherished. Running to & fro for getting all the details right to attending the workshop…the entire journey was worth it

The hard work in bringing in close to a hundred student managers for the workshop through various modes of internal & external promotions actually paid off at the conclusion of the event.

What motivated you to do the workshop?

In a B-school, one often gets a chance to attend lectures from guests coming from across the globe, but a hands-on workshop is what every student looks forward to after a certain while in the programme.

Workshops give you the feel of what’s actually happening with people, products and processes outside the walls of the B-school,this propelled me to organize the workshop and I would recommend Twenty19 workshop any day!

It was extremely engaging; A lecture for over four hours with a single break would very easily make you feel bored. But that did not happen for me or anyone in the crowd over the course of the workshop.

A good deal of videos, case studies & examples running in parallel gave the student managers a lot to ponder upon and make value addition to their limited knowledge of marketing across various spheres.

Why did you choose twenty19?

Milestone 35 being an Inter-college fest where more than 1000 students take part, we felt this was the best portal for all students to gain useful insights on various important topics. Bhavya Poddar studies at Indira Gandhi Institute of Technology, Delhi. Her alternate interests and love for literature made her intern as a Content Writer at many different platforms like “Respect Women” and “Cerebrate Content.” She even interned as an author at “You Only Read Once.” Her work from home internship at Cerebrate Content tells more about her journey. Read on.. What were your main responsibilities as an intern? My responsibilities included writing content for various upcoming websites and organisations basically involved with e-commerce and web development. I was expected to formulate my write up in the desired number of words according to the given guidelines and revert them back to the editors. Why did you want to do this internship? What did you learn from it? I am a very keen writer and this company gave me the right platform to learn and explore my interests. Hence, I chose to do it. I was supposed to revert back within a given deadline and I made sure I didn’t miss it each time. Apart from this, I learnt the various aspects of content writing and how one needs to be crisp with what they choose to write on. What was the impact that you made as an intern? What was the best thing about your whole internship? My work was supposed to be attractive, catchy and highly informative at the same time. I surely made a fine impact by doing so appropriately. The excellent support from the hiring company was the best thing about my internship. What you felt before and after the internship? Formerly, I always had a fear that they would fire me! (Phew! Thank heavens, they didn’t. :D) The supportive assistance received by the hiring company was truly appreciable. I felt great and proud about myself after the internship.   Here’s an interview with Dr. Krishna Raj, Associate Professor, Electronics Engineering Department- HBTI Kanpur. Dr. Raj, has completed his B. Tech (Electronics) from MMMEC, Gorakhpur & M. Tech (Control and Instrumentation) from MNREC, Allahabad. He also has his Ph.D- MMMEC, Gorakhpur. Dr. Raj has published 57 papers, and 3 books as well. Dr. Raj, talks to Aman Varshney, a final year student in Electronics Engineering from HBTI, Kanpur. Aman- How has your college life been? Dr. K. Raj: My college life has been full of ups and down. Though it never let me down. Despite the fact that my family’s financial condition was not good enough, my parents supported me to achieve what all I have now. I did my engineering from MMMEC, Gorakhpur and I loved spending my time in the college library. I used to take tuitions during my college time. That how I somehow relate with Twenty19’s concept of “Learn and Earn”. Aman- How did you decide to study Electronics Engineering and Digital Signal Processing? Dr. K. Raj: I believe in a very famous saying “See the invisible, do the impossible”. Electronics Engineering is one of the branches of engineering where you can actually see the invisible! And at the same time, there is so much to explore in Digital Signal Processing. So just with the aim to do some interesting in life, I chose Electronics Engineering. Aman- What are some of the methods that you use, to keep the students in your class interested about the course. Dr. K. Raj: The best teacher is the one who can read between the lines. So, I feel it important to understand what is written between the lines in the books and tell students about it. Its also important to start with problem analysis, reach to the mathematical interpretation and then provide the students with the graphical representation. I advise my students to learn online as well and learn something other than their syllabus. Aman- What is the best thing about being a Professor? What do you like the best about teaching at HBTI, Kanpur? Dr. K. Raj: The best thing about being a professor is the passion with which he/she teaches the students. Honesty and discipline are also important in this profession. The quality of students that I get to teach at HBTI is great. I enjoy interacting with intellectuals. I feel lucky to be part of India’s one of the oldest engineering college. Aman- If not a professor then what would you have been ? Dr. K. Raj: I have been taking tuition since I was in class 6th. I have always loved books. Certainly, I would have been a teacher if not a professor here. Aman- If given a chance, what would you like to change about the current education system in India? Dr. K. Raj: I would like to work on the evaluation system. The current evaluation system has many loopholes at every level starting from schools. There is also a need to make professors accountable about their work. Feedback must be taken from students about professors. Aman- What is your take on Internships? Why do you think students should do internships Dr. K. Raj: Internships are certainly very important as it is one of the prime demands of the industry. Internships help a student to gain experiences which they won’t be able to gain from their college and these training and internship experiences will help them in getting the best of the jobs in the industry. Aman- What do you think about Twenty19? Dr. K. Raj: Twenty19 is a great initiative that provides the students with some very good opportunities of internships, learning and earning as well. It is important for students to grab these opportunities and gain knowledge. Online learning is a great platform in the present day education. We would like to thank Dr. Raj for being an inspiration for students. Thank you sir, for taking time to talk to us   About Aman Varshney. Aman is pursuing his B. Tech in Electronics & Communication at HBTI Kanpur. Aman was also Twenty19’s campus ambassador in 2013-2014, and now mentors the new batch of campus ambassadors. Srija Sanyal has had an amazing experience interning at five different companies. While Dose Internet Media got her big, portals like Tikkrr.com and pinkandyou.com let her voice her opinions. On the other hand, amamiia.com and expin.com furnished her writing and marketing skills for the better. Read on to find more about Srija’s learning journey thorough the different internships boosted her confidence in herself.. 1. What are the key things that you learnt during your internships? Internship experience as a content writer furnished my writing skills for the better. I am sure as big after completing my one month Internship with Dose Internet media. I wrote on other sites for their banner too. Their trust on me to do so made me realise the impact I had on them as an intern. Formerly, my self esteem was very low. When I submitted the first article, I never thought they would publish it. Then,  2. What mistakes did you commit and what did you learn from them? While submitting my first post I was oscillating between whether to withdraw from the opportunity and feared that it might get rejected for being not good enough. But I went forward and the results were definitely good and different from what I expected them to be. I feel each one of us have some quality or the other which can do wonders if cultivated properly. Only we can initiate such cultivation of our strengths. I learnt that I must listen to the call within me to carry on whatever it takes. I also realised that  3. As a college student, how was your exposure to professional world? What did you learn? Teamwork: During my internship we were around 4-5 interns working together as a team yet were having individual space and recognition. There was the team effort in making the site popular but at the same time individual efforts of creating engaging and crisp content was there and was appreciated duly. Earning my own money: It was payday that I liked, not because of the money but for the first time I was earning something against my own hard-work. The environment made me remind of offices where one works hard the whole month and waits for the payday which defines their hard work. Learning from Strict editors: I guess these kind of internships shape us students for the tough corporate world out there. The editors were strict with the quality but never forgot to praise the efforts which really encouraged me. Confidence in my skills: In the interviews I gave in the past, I answered that I didn’t know anything for every question I was asked. Now I can say many things that I can do regarding office work, computer, work ethics, team management et al. 4. How have the internships shaped you? All my internships have shaped me what I am today. They helped me transform from a mere college girl to somebody who can also manage and work in office with a team well enough. I know there is still a long journey that awaits yet the journey so far was a good learning experience. All thanks to these internships which installed a confidence in me that I too can do something. Moreover, it definitely enhanced the knowledge-box inside me which was limited before. Researching on various topics gave an exposure to vivid worlds. Even during marketing, research and development regarding internships opened a new genre ahead of me which I never thought I could handle. 5. What is the one thing that you learnt commonly in all the internships? .Before jumping onto conclusions on what exactly you can do and you can not, you should give each and every genre a try. I did not think that I could ever handle marketing but I did one internship in that as well. Though at the end of the day I would still say arts and content writing thing is my forte yet I can manage other fields with equal efficiency. Good luck to all of you reading my story – go and grab dream internships for yourselves   Srija has had her way through this, it’s about that time you have yours! Internships are just a click away! Srija Sanyal

Then,

I saw my article being published with my name stated below. That moment made me realise what I could be anything if I want to be.

I also realised that

Rejection is the essential part of the journey towards betterment.

3. As a college student, how was your exposure to professional world? What did you learn?

  • Teamwork: During my internship we were around 4-5 interns working together as a team yet were having individual space and recognition. There was the team effort in making the site popular but at the same time individual efforts of creating engaging and crisp content was there and was appreciated duly.
  • Earning my own money: It was payday that I liked, not because of the money but for the first time I was earning something against my own hard-work. The environment made me remind of offices where one works hard the whole month and waits for the payday which defines their hard work.

All thanks to these internships which installed a confidence in me that I too can do something.

All my internships have made me what I am today. They have transformed me from a mere college girl to somebody with the confidence that I too can do something.

Never underrate yourself – that is the first and foremost thing that I learnt from these internships

.Before jumping onto conclusions on what exactly you can do and you can not, you should give each and every genre a try. I did not think that I could ever handle marketing but I did one internship in that as well. Though at the end of the day I would still say arts and content writing thing is my forte yet I can manage other fields with equal efficiency.

Good luck to all of you reading my story – go and grab dream internships for yourselves :)
