Madhu Ramakrishnan is a final year student studying Bachelor of Visual Arts (B.V.A.) at Stella Maris College, Chennai. A Graphic designer in making, Madhu found the right place to hone her skills when she landed a two-month summer internship at Twenty19.

How did you get this internship opportunity at Twenty19?
A combination of interest and curiosity in graphic design took me over and led me on an internship hunt
Ever since I joined college, questions about my future plans started getting thrown at me and I was clueless for a while. I didn’t know how to steer my career in the right path, leave alone forward. But a combination of interest and curiosity in graphic design took me over and led me on an internship hunt in my sixth semester. I stumbled upon this internship opportunity (Graphic Designer at Twenty19) and applied straight away. Lucky for me, I was chosen for the task.
Why did you want to intern at Twenty19?
I wanted to work in a place which would bring the best out of me and help me realize my potential
The idea of working with a leading online student portal was very exciting. I was sure that it would mean more creativity, exposure and a sense of direction to my career. I wanted to work in a place which would bring the best out of me and help me realize my potential. Twenty19 seemed ideal for it.
What responsibilities were you assigned as a Graphic Design intern?
As a Graphic Design intern, I came directly under the mentorship and guidance of Mustafa, head of product & design at Twenty19. This gave me the opportunity to work on designs for Twenty19 courses, promotional banners and ads, designs for facebook ads and other interesting projects.
How did you carry out your tasks?
My love for designing and my ability to effectively put ideas on paper proved crucial
I had no idea on how to go about things since this was my first internship. But thankfully I had a wonderful Twenty19 team to support me. Their vital inputs and insights helped bring the best out of me every time. My love for designing and my ability to effectively put ideas on paper also proved crucial in carrying out the tasks.
Tell us about one exciting project you worked on
The Twenty19 summer course offer a.k.a Mighty80 summer discounts offer was one exciting project I was lucky to be a part of. I was assigned the task of designing the thumbnails for combo courses package. I came up with some designs and the most effective one among them was chosen. I also designed facebook ads and google ads for the combo offer.
How did you feel working with the Twenty19 team?
It was a wonderful experience working with the Twenty19 team. I especially loved the office culture. The people working there were simply amazing. They gave it their all – be it work or play. I always thought that the transition from college to corporate would be difficult. But, Twenty19 made it look seamless.
How was the experience and what are your takeaways from this internship?
This opportunity has brought me out of my comfort-zone and venture into new frontiers
This has been my most inspiring and productive summer vacation ever. I learnt a great deal through this internship. I am now more confident and more creative. This opportunity has brought me out of my comfort-zone and venture into new frontiers. I thank Twenty19 for this wonderful opportunity that made me discover the real ‘ME’. Thank you Twenty19!
