My Internship Role: Reporter, Feature Writer
My key responsibilities: As my first stint as a reporter, I was expected to look for stories, then write(report) them and submit it to the desk, who would edit it. The second time, I wrote news features, edited them, made the pages, proof-read and finally released the page for publishing.
The impact that I made: I wrote a lot of features on current issues, that got me positive feedback from readers. I still get calls from people about a civic issue they might have, asking me to report and help them bring it to the notice of other people.
What I learnt/Skills i picked up: Experience and stamina building. No amount of class room preparation can give you an idea on what it is like to work in a media house. It is not just tough, it also requires a lot of dedication. Apart from learning how certain softwares work, one key thing that the internship helped me with was to decide what I wanted to do. It gave me a practical and specific approach to my career. No doubt you lose out on your socialising time, but it’s worth it!
The best thing about the Internship: When you come home post mid night, after a hard day at work, the food tastes better!
Would I recommend an internship in this company to my friends: Yep – this company is awesome!

My internship Experience in “One Word”: Moving
My internship “Cloud 9 Moment”: I got to see the inside of Raj Bhavan, Maharashtra, the Governor’s Bungalow. It is a superb place with sea splashing on three sides and when you’re from the press. covering an event, the food is lip-smacking-good too!
It gives you a niche idea of what you really want to do in life, and puts you face to face with life’s realities. My experience has been bitter sweet, but an internship in any field is highly recommended!
