probelm solved.

but now namenode is not working

answered by DarshanShah, [ Jul, 2017 ]

hi Darshan,
first delete all contents from temporary folder: rm -Rf <tmp dir> (my was /usr/local/hadoop/tmp)

format the namenode: bin/hadoop namenode -format
start all processes again:bin/start-all.sh

You may consider rolling back as well using checkpoint (if you had it enabled).

try this,if it doesn't work pls feel free to ask

answered by VikasMishra, [ Jul, 2017 ]

STEP 1 stop hadoop
hduser@vikasmis$ /usr/local/hadoop-2.2.0/sbin/stop-dfs.sh

STEP 2 remove tmp folder
hduser@vikasmis$ sudo rm -rf /app/hadoop/tmp/

STEP 3 create /app/hadoop/tmp/
hduser@vikasmis$ sudo mkdir -p /app/hadoop/tmp
hduser@vikasmis$ sudo chown hduser:hadoop /app/hadoop/tmp
hduser@vikasmis$ sudo chmod 750 /app/hadoop/tmp

STEP 4 format namenode
hduser@vikasmis$ hdfs namenode -format

STEP 5 start dfs
hduser@vikasmis$ /usr/local/hadoop-2.2.0/sbin/start-dfs.sh

STEP 6 check jps
hduser@vikasmis$ $ jps
11342 Jps
10804 DataNode
11110 SecondaryNameNode
10558 NameNode
If you are facing any further problem feel free to ask.

answered by VikasMishra, [ Jul, 2017 ]

why to disable IPv 6?

asked by BensonM

Apache Hadoop is not currently supported on IPv6 networks. It has only been tested and developed on IPv4 stacks. Hadoop needs IPv4 to work, and only IPv4 clients can talk to the cluster. If your organisation moves to IPv6 only, you will encounter problems.
