E-week is a festival powered by National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN) associated with Wadhwani Foundation. Ember is a registered organization under NEN – National Entrepreneurship Network which comprises of 600 member colleges from all over the country, making it the biggest Entrepreneurship activity in Asia. This year we, at Atharva College of Engineering are competing for the prestigious NEN Championship Award. For past 3 years we have been doing a tremendous job in such competitions- winning 3 national level awards in years 2009 and 2010. The ‘Nilima Rovshen Creativity and Innovation Award’ and ‘Honor Role’ are the awards Atharva has won in previous E-Weeks. But this time the things are a bit different as we are not only aiming for the Championship but also for the ‘Nilima Rovshen Creativity and Innovation Award’. This year we are having a total of around 60 events that include the ideas of entrepreneurship as well as social entrepreneurship. |

This year, E-week at Atharva College of Engineering is to be an extravaganza of the future, because the theme this time is “Invent the future”. What comes to your mind when you think of future? Is it the cars that run on water or the ones that can fly? Or is it some haywire description of you having a robotic sibling? Or maybe children of the age of 5 doing Quantum Computing? Or is it some problems like scarcity of water or maybe high extent of pollution? Issues like these can be considered to be good ventures of the future and people who can address to these topics can grasp great entrepreneurship oppurtunities. The world has enough people running restaurants or building software for gamers and stock markets; enough entrepreneurs wanting to create the next technology giant to cater to the markets of the developed economies. Now is the time to look within, to work from the inside out. Solving these problems will require us to Invent the Future and the successful entrepreneur of this future would have started work from today. All this and much more await you at the E-week being held at the college campus from 11th to 18th February. So all you future crazy people and even the ones who are eagerly waiting to work towards the betterment of the future, E-week is the place to be. So all you guys and girls out there pull up your socks for one full week of fun and enjoyment mixed and hidden inside the very strong essence of learning. This is surely a week to watch out for and not the one to be missed at all. It is a going to be one of the best weeks at Atharva College of Engineering, filled with interesting events like Technopreneurship Maze, Lie To Me, Master Chef Atharva, Wall Street, Déjà vu. Here are some guidelines to getting started………… Creativity Do you have a secret green invention that can reduce the carbon footprint of your college? Now is the time to showcase it. SEWA is an organization that stands for ‘Serving Economically Weaker Alike’. The main objective behind this is to serve the needy and help people rise from their penury. Students from Atharva gather clothes, stationery, etc. from willing donors and distribute them among the not so well off. Last year students from the college collected toys and distributed them to an orphanage located at Gorai, namely the Missionaries of Charity‘s Shaanti Daan. There was a million dollar expression of joy and amusement on the faces of those innocent children. E-Week at Schools: E-week at schools instills the essence of entrepreneurship at school level which involves innovating, financing and business acumen in an effort to transform innovations into economic good. We, at Atharva College of Engineering, constantly endeavor for success and so is our mentality for others too. This is our real motive behind organizing E-week at schools. E-week at schools, is an event of E-week wherein students from the college visit different schools and inculcate the sense of entrepreneurship in budding minds. This event covers a wide age group of 7-12 year. Students are made to think of new ideas that can take the centre stage or can be considered profitable sectors of the future. Loads of interesting activities like sell your product, group puzzle solving, instant talks on present issues and instant story building are organized by the college students. Statistics show that, we had covered a total of around 37 schools that implies we reached out to around 5000 students. This year round we plan to reach out to more than 50 schools trying to expand our own horizons. NGOs: The main objective behind organizing this event is to promote social entrepreneurship. This is the only form of business that believes in donating the profits earned to the needy. |
