Established in 1948 as Calcutta National Medical Institute, Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital, popularly known as Chittaranjan Hospital, is one of the most prestigious government medical colleges in West Bengal with an extensive OPD and state-of-the-art health services that cater to more than 10,000 patients daily. With its cordial and committed environment, the CNMC&H family stands out in its tradition of fostering a unique bond between the alumni and presents students.Founder Principal of the college was Dr. Sundari Mohan Das. It is currently affiliated with the West Bengal University of Health Sciences, and accredited by the Medical Council of India.
Agon is the annual cultural festival organized by the Calcutta National Medical College Students’ Union. The four-day long carnival provides an apt platform for showcasing the talent and vibrancy of youth through a myriad of events. In congruence with its essence, Agon has been associated with several internationally famed performers and artists in its quest of transforming into a nation-wide phenomenon.
Considered one of the biggest annual festivals organized by a medical college in eastern India, Agon continues to grow with every passing year, transcending boundaries and creating benchmarks.
