Description
For all the Mobile application Developers out there!!!  DAKSH along with Student Nokia Developer brings to you, a STUDENT ONLY, 48 hours hackathon. All the applications MUST be for series 40 Nokia Devices. The allowed platforms for the event are:
  • JAVA ME
  • Series 40 Web Apps.
Prizes : 8 Latest Nokia phones!!!

There is an Online Mode of participation as Well.
Event Details
Theme:

The theme for the event is "Open Innovation".Innovation is best achieved by an open mind. As such,there is no specific type of application desired,Any application which is innovative and Useful is good.

Event Format:

Team Size: MAX 2

There are 2 Rounds for this event:
  • Round 1: This includes selecting the top applications on the basis of their use and innovation.
  • Round 2: The top teams from Round 1 will be required to present their application in front of a panel of Judges. Here,the true Quality of your work will be estimated - how well have you thought,analyzed and implemented Your Application.

Mode of Participation:

There are 2 modes of participation for the event - On Campus and Online.
  • OnCampus Mode: The participants will be required to come to SASTRA University. You will have to develop the applications on the venue. Wifi and other facilities will be made available to you during the 2 day HackAthon.
  • Online Mode: For the people who cannot come to SASTRA University,there's an online way of Submission. You may submit your applications to _____________(The email id will be revealed some time before the actual start of the event). For Round 2,the online participants will have to Blog about all details of the application. The blog link should be mailed along with the Application to the above mentioned e-mail id.
Other Event details
Event Rules:
  • Participants are to be students from one of the recognized colleges all over the world.
  • The maximum team size for the event is 2.
  • You should bring along your own laptops for the Event.
  • Training kit and sufficient Resources would be provided.
  • Applications will be counted for evaluation only if they are submitted to Nokia store (former OVI store) via Student Nokia Developer's login credentials which will be provided to every single team.

Prize Details:
The prizes for the event will be Nokia Series 40 Devices for the following categories:
  • 1)Team which develops and submits highest number of applications after the local mentor approval.[Applications will be verified Separately for the Online Participants]
  • 2),3)for Teams developing top 2 best JAVA ME apps.
  • 4)Team developing best Series 40 Web App.
Note:
  • 1)Each winner team is given two series 40 mobile phones as prizes even if the winner is a individual participant:).
  • 2)Since its a day and night event,you MUST register well before the event,So that all the facilities can be arranged for you.
