Sympulse Press Team , Pune, January 24: Pune’s biggest annual inter college festival is back, this time full loaded with new opportunities and events. Symbiosis Centre for Management Studies (Under Graduate), Pune is organizing its five-day inter-college festival Sympulse 2012 on campus in Viman Nagar from 30th Jan to 3rd Feb 2012. Around 100 colleges have registered for participation in over 62 events of Sympulse so far. With events ranging from business to sports to fashion show and an active participation from a number of international colleges, Sympulse 2012 hopes to leave all with a global experience. The four wings of Sympulse are Ananya, Symulate, SIMUNC and Sprint. While Ananya, the cultural fest offers a great platform for budding musicians, dancers, quizzers, & artists, Symulate, the business fest promises to challenge the managerial acumen of the participants. Sprint gives a fantastic opportunity to showcase one’s sporting and athletic skills in various events like table tennis, lawn tennis, swimming, basketball, cricket, football etc. SIMUNC-Symbiosis International Model United Nations Conference, will bring together debaters from various countries and colleges & put them into endless hours of deliberations and intellectual discussions. To evaluate the participants’ skills, Sympulse 2012 will see a host of eminent personalities as judges; Jackie Shroff, Madhur Bhandarkar, Arjan Bajwa, Manoviraj Khosla, Javed Jaffery, Terence Lewis are to name a few. Symulate, the business fest of Sympulse kick started with the Academic Summit like every year held at SCMS(UG) on 30th January 2012. With the topic as 'Post Liberalization Youth of India: The next catalyst of Change' we had eminent speakers like retired justice Mr.V S Sipurkar, Mr.Sidharth Agarwal chief director of Teach for India, Mr.Ashok Upadhyay chief editor of the Economic Times and Business Times and Mr.Vivek Singh an alumni of IIM-A who also has a popular blog called 'All about presentations'. The speakers enlightened the audience with a comparison of times before and after liberalization. They put forward their views about today’s generation and the transition the youth has been through over the ages. They talked on various issues like the importance of ethics in management and the kind of attitude carried by today’s youth. They also emphasized on the fact that there needs to be a change in the academic curriculum involving more subject on corporate social responsibility. The Academic Summit was a great success and left all of us thinking how much the society has changed since liberalization, compelling us to prioritize in life. |
